Saturday Matinee Broadcasts 2020-21

Launched in 1931, the Met’s Saturday matinee broadcasts are the longest-running continuous classical radio series in American broadcast history. Currently they are heard over the Toll Brothers–Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network. [MetropolitanOpera]

While live performances are cancelled for the 2020-21 season, there will be a season of Saturday Matinee ENCORE Broadcasts.  Host Mary Jo Heath and commentator Ira Siff return with insightful commentary and intermission features, including interviews with Met stars.  Listeners will also get to choose the historic broadcast they most want to hear for “Listeners’ Choice” on February 6, 2021. Voting begins in December.
